I've just updated my main image which you probably noticed! It's my new favourite image taken recently by Sean J Connolly Photography. We found this immense field of striking poppies we just had to use it as the perfect picture frame. I've seen the odd scattering of poppies in fields but never as many as this one. I think the way the shot was taken and the edit truly makes this a beautiful image.

Now, I've wanted to tell you about a competition I've entered, and how I'm really going to need all your votes if I'm going to win! It is to be the face of a lingerie brand by Putti Lingerie and this is something I believe I'm ideally formed for. This is the link to my image, which all you need to do to cast your vote is simply to click 'like'. Thanks so much for your support. :-)

Yesterday one of my Facebook followers shared a link with me, asking whether it was indeed myself in one of the images on the aforementioned link's site. I checked out the link and needless to say it is me!

The shot was taken by Chris Rout on a lifestyle stock shoot we did, when I worked with my other half, Sean Connolly. It was immensely fun at the time because we had to portray different relationship scenarios, including poses where we'd be happy and ones where we'd have had a fight! Check it out anyway:

I thought it was about time I updated my friends online now that we've moved house and finally got somewhat settled! The boxes have been long unpacked but I'm ashamed to say there's few pictures on the walls - not exactly a homely look. Before moving I'd bought some gorgeous picture frames which I'm still yet to fill. It's so difficult deciding what photos to immortalise, especially when you open up iPhoto and you realise just how many photos you take on your digital camera! I have considered getting my favourite modelling images printed up and showcase on wall somewhere, maybe the bedroom, but then I think that's maybe a little too self indulgent. But I really do appreciate good shots which is why I'm so hands on and involved on my shoots. I love to help create something beautiful and it's thrilling to receive back images that make me want to show them off so much. What is the point in a good picture if it's never appreciated?

I still have so many shoot ideas on my mind but I worry I'll never get to indulge in them all. Most I admit are lingerie focused, only because I love it so darn much! Yet again this week I too keenly received a parcel of naughty delights from Mr Postie. I'm going to be so overflowing with suspender belts and corsets I'm sure I'll be sick of them before they get chance to come out of the Box again. Or maybe not. :-D

It's the end of the week, Friday the 13th at that, and once again and I'm resuming my position at my MacBook. It's been an immense week. Historical. What started out as a positive run up to what should have been our big 'move day' mid next week has ended with a minefield of confusion and stress. The house which we'd applied for (and had successfully been approved for) has been snatched off us by our would-be landlord because of the lure of a sale. Gutted is an understatement. With less than three working days remaining of our current tenancy we are now back to square one hitting Right Move all over again. So if you have a nice house we can rent, please feel free to let me know!

Okay, you're thinking 'so what's this got to do with modelling?' First of all, I'm letting off some steam of my crappy week which I'm truly grateful to offload this onto you! It is so easy to become disheartened and feel shot down when the going gets tough. I am the first person to put my hand up and admit I come close to deleting my Facebook account when I feel like this. In fact I could begin a whole new blog dedicated to my short comings and bad luck. (Don't get me started...) The way I've felt this week is how I sometimes feel about my modelling. The feelings are usually triggered when I've been looking at some really good images in someone else's portfolio. I'll admire them so much I begin to blur the line with feeling resentment that it isn't me in the image and then downhearted that I'm not slim like the model. It's on reflection of these self attacking rituals that I realise I'm seeing things the wrong way round. Of course I will never be that model, the girl with perfect little lips, slim hips and small boobs. Because I'm me! Of course I won't be a fashion editorial model. But I can be what I am designed for, and that's modelling lingerie; lingerie for real women with curves and that's where I realise I actually have the best job.

The moral of the story? There maybe isn't one, other than: don't allow yourself to get beaten down by the world. Things may not work out how you think they should but it doesn't mean you're stuffed. This is what I'm hoping, or rather telling myself about our misfortune with finding a house and not getting the one we were supposed to be. I may be all stressed out now with no plan but it should come good in the wash. At least that's what I said on my other half's Facebook status. :-)

Wow, I can't believe I didn't post at all in April! So sorry to my followers, I know some of you have been wondering why it's been so quiet on the Becky's Boudoir front. I can assure you I have not gone off the radar totally! I have been doing some fantastic shoots and planning some big projects for May and June. I can't say much about those plans just yet but in time I will share the news.

I am also in the process of househunting and will be on the move by mid May (yikes, this month!), so again, this will be a big reason why I may not be able to get on here so often. I can not begin to describe how keen I am to get shifted already so I can concentrate on these shoots!

I will leave you with some images from one of my recent shoots with Darlington based photographer John Beilby. We worked on a variety of tasteful lingerie and fashion looks which I feel have given my portfolio a real boost. I love the shots to bits, I feel each one shows how versatile my look can be.

If I've been a little quiet on my blog scene it's because I've been squirreling away with my new plans for a video shoot. This is going to be one of the biggest projects I've done and managed myself so it's going to be super time consuming but sooo exciting!

I'm currently in the process of pulling a good team together and I'm 75% of the way there. We will have a videographer, photographer, make up artist and hopefully a hair stylist on set, with yours truly modelling. Finding the perfect venue will be the biggest challenge, especially as I have quite a clear idea what I'm visualizing; something very quintessential English, airing on the chintz, with a strong floral, almost vintage feel. Lingerie will consist of bras and knickers, corsets and stockings in an array of pastel colours, making a very spring/summer themed shoot. It would be nice to have the sun partake in the shoot too, but I'm guessing that may be pushing it for now... :-)

If anyone can recommend a hotel somewhere between Tyne and Wear and North Yorkshire, I'd love to hear your ideas!

I've also realised I've quite a crush on old rocking horses too. I was browsing eBay and saw some truly beautiful vintage horses but I can't exactly justify a two grand price tag, however gorgeous it is! It drew me to imagine all sorts for this shoot I'm working on, which got me all excited all over again. I contacted a local expert who just so happened to be from my hometown, who specialises in restoring these old rocking horses. Unfortunately I won't be able to loan a horse for this shoot because they're not the kind of thing they keep in stock. Gutted is not the word. If anyone has a rocking horse like this I will be your best friend forever... :-D x

I would say that Spring has sprung but judging by today's dank weather, you'd think we were way back in late Autumn. The fog has been so heavy and it just makes everything feel dreary and miserable. Not a good feeling!

Despite the lack of that spring feeling in the air, my modelling clothing boxes certainly received their spring clean! It was time to tidy, reorder and out with the old and in with the new. Bits and pieces which I don't want to keep reappearing in shoots are to be sold on which will clear some space, and I stress the 'some' (!) I hadn't realised just how many beautiful new additions I've been buying recently so it was good to go through pieces properly. They'll be worn in due course, which I'll of course share with you.

The black lace bunny ears finally arrived today, which I'm very excited about. I'm planning on creating a dark, high fashion lingerie look, incorporating the ears with some stockings, killer heels and a bra or corset. We shall see how the idea develops! Any make up artists who would like to do me a smokey eye look are urged to get in contact. I love having a good team when working on exciting ideas. Which of course I have plenty of!

The Curvy Kate Star in a Bra competition ends in precisely an hour and three quarters' time. I may do this for a living but I'll be beyond ecstatic to get into the top 30 and have the opportunity to model for such a fab international label. We shall see :-)
